For this Worthy Cause Wednesday, we’re proud to highlight Give Kids The World Village, one of the incredible organizations our company supports, and a recent celebration that brought a little extra magic to wish kids and their families.
In honor of World Princess Week, Walt Disney World hosted a special Disney Princess celebration at GKTW Village. The event filled the Village with creativity, music, laughter, and unforgettable moments for children facing critical illnesses.
Bringing Princess Stories to Life
Throughout the celebration, wish kids and their families enjoyed activities inspired by some of their favorite Disney Princesses.
Rapunzel helped children decorate paper lanterns inspired by Tangled, which later illuminated the Village. Belle shared stories centered on bravery, kindness, and believing in yourself. Moana helped kids create Heart of Te Fiti-inspired jewelry as a reminder of their own strength.
Princess Tiana and Louis brought even more excitement with a lively second line parade. Families grabbed instruments, danced through the Village, and simply enjoyed being together.
But one moment made the celebration especially meaningful.
Orlando wish kid Ny’lah dreamed of meeting Princess Tiana. During her stay, Tiana surprised her at Give Kids The World Village. The two shared a hug and talked about their mutual love of music, dancing, and beignets.
For Ny’lah, the experience offered something even more important than meeting her favorite princess.
“This wish means a lot to me because it gives me a chance to be out of the hospital, and to be free and not worry.”
40 Years of Creating Hope
For four decades, Give Kids The World Village, Walt Disney World, and wish-granting organizations like Make-A-Wish have worked together to create meaningful experiences for children with critical illnesses.
Give Kids The World provides weeklong Central Florida wish vacations at no cost to wish families, giving them an opportunity to spend time together away from hospital rooms, appointments, and everyday worries.
That mission is one of the many reasons we are so proud to support Give Kids The World Village as a company.
The lanterns, princess visits, parades, and celebrations may only last for a moment, but the memories can stay with these families for a lifetime. They offer joy, connection, courage, and hope during times when families need them most.
This Worthy Cause Wednesday, we celebrate Give Kids The World Village, the volunteers and organizations that help make its mission possible, and, most importantly, the incredible wish kids and families at the heart of it all.
