For this Worthy Cause Wednesday, we’re looking back at four remarkable Cape Coral students who were recognized earlier this year through the Cape Coral Police Department’s Do The Right Thing Program.
Our company is proud to support the Do The Right Thing Program in Cape Coral, which recognizes local students for acts of kindness, courage, responsibility, and service. These four honorees demonstrated that making a positive difference in our community can start at any age.
Four Cape Coral Students Making a Difference
Beau, a 4th grader at Gulf Elementary, turned a school project into an opportunity to help animals in need. He created posters, wrote letters, and collected pet food for a local animal shelter. His efforts resulted in the largest pet food donation collected through the project.
Elaina, a 6th grader at Caloosa Middle, demonstrated incredible courage when a friend was experiencing a crisis. Rather than ignoring the situation, Elaina stepped in and made sure her friend received the lifesaving help she needed.
Lachlan, a 9th grader at Oasis High School, showed his commitment to serving others by dedicating more than 100 volunteer hours to the Kiwanis Thrift Store. His strong work ethic, positive attitude, and dedication to his community earned well-deserved recognition.
Finally, Gemma, an 11th grader at Oasis High School, took quick action when a friend experienced a severe asthma attack. Gemma retrieved the inhaler her friend needed during the medical emergency, demonstrating an impressive ability to respond when every moment mattered.
Supporting the Do The Right Thing Program in Cape Coral
Each student’s story was different, but they all shared something important: a willingness to step up and help others.
The Cape Coral Police Department’s Do The Right Thing Program shines a spotlight on young people who make positive choices throughout our local community. By recognizing their actions, the program encourages other students to lead with compassion, bravery, kindness, and responsibility.
These are the values that help make Cape Coral and Southwest Florida a stronger community, and they are why our company is proud to support this important program.
For this Worthy Cause Wednesday, we’re celebrating Beau, Elaina, Lachlan, and Gemma once again. Their actions remind us that doing the right thing doesn’t always require a grand gesture. Sometimes, it simply means recognizing an opportunity to help and choosing to act.
