Meet Wink: A Story of Hope
What a difference six months—and a forever home—can make.
Meet Wink, formerly known as Toby.
When Wink first came into rescue, he was still searching for the family who would see beyond his circumstances and give him the love he deserved. Like so many rescue dogs, he needed more than food and shelter. He needed patience, medical care, compassion, and someone willing to believe in him.
Today, the transformation is nothing short of remarkable.
His once-thin coat has grown back beautifully, his confidence has blossomed, and his joyful smile says everything words cannot. Wink is thriving because someone opened their heart and their home. This proves once again that adoption truly changes two lives—the dog’s and the family’s.
We are incredibly grateful to Wink’s wonderful family for giving him the happy ending every rescue dog dreams of. And we’re thankful they shared his inspiring update.
About Canine Castaways
Canine Castaways is a Southwest Florida nonprofit rescue organization dedicated to saving homeless, abandoned, neglected, and unwanted dogs. Their mission extends far beyond simply finding homes. They work tirelessly to ensure every dog receives the care, rehabilitation, and support needed to become a beloved family companion.
Many of the dogs entering rescue require veterinary treatment, vaccinations, spay or neuter procedures, grooming, behavioral support, foster care, and sometimes months of rehabilitation before they’re ready for adoption.
